S235 steel values for walls up to 16 mm.

S235 is a non-alloy structural steel. Its 235 MPa yield strength applies to walls up to 16 mm, which covers our whole EN 10253-1 range (2.0 to 7.1 mm).

EN 10253-1 range of our catalog.

Every size comes black or hot-dip galvanized. Elbows, tees and reducers are offered seamless and welded.

Galvanizing

Hot-dip galvanizing to EN ISO 1461 leaves a zinc layer whose minimum mean thickness depends on the steel wall: 55 µm from 1.5 to 3 mm, 70 µm from 3 to 6 mm, 85 µm above. Before welding, the zinc is removed from the bevel area and touched up after welding.

When to choose S235

EN 10253-1 covers general uses without specific inspection requirements: water, heating, fire protection, common industrial networks. For pressure applications with specific inspection, EN 10253-2 or ASME B16.9 in A234 WPB apply.

Frequently asked questions

Do S235 fittings come with a certificate?

Yes, an EN 10204 3.1 certificate comes with every shipment.

Can a galvanized S235 fitting be welded?
